Scooby Doo Masquerade Party!

Its been QUITE awhile since my last post so I thought I would compensate by giving you guys a good one!! So... on the 22nd of May was my youngest sister's, Dinah's, 21st birthday! Hooray! Now my sisters and I are all 21 and over now. Crazy. Anyway, Dinah has ALWAYS and I mean.. ALWAYS LOVED Scooby Doo. She was the type of kid who owned scooby doo dolls and made it a ritual to watch the show every night when she was a kid. She is also the type of person who would possibly get a brown great dane and name it Scooby Doo. hahaha.
Well.. She also personally told me, " PLEASE SOMEONE JUST GIVE ME A SCOOBY PARTY ONE DAY. JUST ONE!!!"
and so... like a good sister..  I listened and did just that. Also,  she had recently said that shes been wanting a masquerade party where everyone wears masks.. AND SOOOOO... I put two and two together and made it a surprise scooby doo masquerade! Clever right?
My mom and I went to downtown LA and bought a whole bunch of garlands, lanterns, and such and decorated the heck out of our backyard! We also borrowed all the lighting and a projector from church. Dinah is also a great fan of movies. So I decided to make our backyard an outdoor theater!
The beginning of the party was fun because we all got to surprise Dinah. Samih was a good guy and kept her busy the whole day while my mom and I prepared tirelessly for the party. Ate Hannah baked her yummy crack pies the whole day for us to consume! YUM!
Once Dinah arrived at my house.. everyone was ready to surprise her already in the backyard. I told samih to blindfold her because I had to dress her up for the party. I actually dressed her up as Velma and I told Samih to dress up like Shaggy. I also made a Scooby collar for Hallie to wear! So I dressed Dinah up, BLINDFOLDED STILL. hahah I'm her sister, so it's allowed! She had no idea how she looked when I was putting the clothes on her. haha. After that, I led her to the backyard and unveiled the surprise to her. It was funny to see everyone with their masks on. And of course, Dinah cried cause of her great love for scooby doo, masquerades, and friends.
The movie of the night: "This means war"
and on the menu: pasta and salad!

It's crazy how much of a difference lights and a lanterns could make.

SISTA SISTA!!!

Thanks to everyone who was able to make it out for Dinah's party. I know she had a lot of fun and it's really because of the presence of her friends and family.

Was definitely worth all the stress in party planning to see the satisfaction in Dinah's face! Thank God for another year sister! You have been and are a blessing to me. We fight and quarrel.. and sometimes you can get on my last nerve, but I love ya like no other! We are sisters, partners in crime, and friends all rolled up into one amazing little love sushi! I hope you had fun! WOOMIES FOR LIFE DINAH!
