Letting our Imagination Flow

I had the privilege of spending time with my nieces and nephew today. I love them so much and I always have such a blast being with them and getting to know them! What I love about kids in general is their fervor for doing anything imaginative and creative. My nieces literally love color as much as I do. I thought it was the greatest thing to create something with them and to see how much fun they had doing it. It was so much fun. They are my favorite artists. Today we created an ocean scene. Medium: crayola chalk. Not only are these girls artists... but models as well! So much talent ;]
I edited these pictures, but I give all photocred to my sister, Dinah!
( missing my nephew in these pictures:[ )
I hope they never lose their sense of wonder.
I love them so much.

Cheers to 50 years

50 years of life is a feat in itself. 50 years of doing life with another person??  That is pretty incredible.  Earlier this month, I got the chance to celebrate and decorate the 50 year anniversary shindig for our dear senior pastor, Pastor Paul, and his beloved wife, Tita Josie! God has definitely been good and faithful throughout the years. This couple has been a huge blessing to me, my family, and my church family! To show my appreciation to the couple, I volunteered to help my mom out in decorating the main table for the reception. Here are some pics:]

This is the 50th sign I made from my last post! Pinned it on burlap cloth and had some doilies and flower pins surrounding it. Made it as the focal point for the couples' backdrop . I hung three feathers from the 50th sign signifying the couples' three sons.

I made this hanging branch by zip-tying and wiring branches together from trees that my dad had been trimming in our backyard!  After that, I sprayed it dark brown. It took about 2-3 hours to do. After it was hung by twine, I was able to cascade fresh orchids, feathers, gypsy flowers, gold chains, and pearls from it. I feel like it came out really whimsical and romantic. I absolutely loved it and would make it again!

I needed something to put on the table... so I literally improvised and found glass jars and sprayed them gold last minute for center pieces. I put jasmines, orchids, and gypsies in them. My mom also laid a lace table cloth down which pulled the whole look together beautifully!
The women of the church beautifully draped lacey cloth in the tent and covered each table with plastic gold table cloths. The center pieces were  simply apple ciders covered in gold and white cloth.

The lovely couple lighting the unity candle.

not even close to the whole lacanilao clan! Sorry if some people were cut off in my picture:[ haha

Tita Josie! I love this because she actually doesn't like posing for solo pictures. She looked beautiful.
The beautiful couple.
I was honored to help out with the event and I pray God continues to give them even more years!
These two have been through so much just through the past few months... I could only imagine how many other things they have experienced together the past 50 years! LOVE IS PERSEVERANT! I remember speaking with Tita Josie and my mom about the plans for this event as Pastor Paul was recovering from his sickness. While being exhausted from all the hospital admits and discharges, her face just lit up and had shown how grateful and appreciative she was. You knew that having a party for her anniversary wasn't on her priority because she was very focused on just getting her husband better. That's love. Seeing how much appreciation she had for what we were doing made it all worth it.
Thank God for these two!!

p.s. my mom is an amazing women for heading this event and planning it for the couple. She has the most wonderful heart. I could only hope and pray that I grow up with an AMAZING servant's heart like hers!
